African Essentials Organic Argan Oil Review

African Essentials Argan Oil Review

I’ve used argan oil for years. It is the one oil that ALWAYS works for my skin, no matter the time of year, how my hormones levels are, or other skincare products I’m currently using.

It ALWAYS moisturizes, reduces redness and inflammation (thus reducing the appearance of acne!!), and balances my skin.

But it can be expensive. Especially if you want organic and fair trade.

Until now.

The African Essentials Organic Argan Oil is the only argan oil I’ve found that’s both organic AND fair trade for less than $30 CAD. Here’s a quick review and a look at how I use it.

This Oil Is…

  • Organic

  • Fair Trade

  • Non-GMO

  • Vegan

  • Cruelty Free

  • Gluten Free

  • Packaged in Glass

  • Less than $30 CAD (!!!)

Made With…

  • Pure Argan Oil

Scent - This has the classic, natural scent of argan oil. It’s almost a little nutty.

Texture - Argan oil’s texture is one of the reasons it works so well for my skin. It’s light, so it isn’t too heavy for my acne prone skin, but it’s still moisturizing so it leaves my skin soft even after it’s sunk in.

Efficacy - I was concerned a cheaper argan oil wasn’t going to work as well, but my fears were unsubstantiated. This works just as well as any argan oil I’ve tried! (And I’ve tried a lot…)

Sustainability - This is the best part about this particular argan oil. It’s organic, fair trade, packaged in glass, and affordable. There really isn’t anything else they could do!

  • Argan oil has a comedogenic rating of 0, which means it is very unlikely it will clog your pores. This is partly what makes it great for acne prone skin.

  • With that in mind, I recommend argan oil to everyone and anyone, especially if you’re new to oils and want to get started with an oil that’s likely going to work really well for you.

How do you use argan oil?

  • The beauty of pure, simple ingredients like argan oil is you can use it in a multitude of ways. Use it as a makeup remover, face oil, moisturizer, or in DIY recipes.

  • I use it as a face oil, after my toner and before my face cream. I’ll also mix it with equal parts castor oil and tamanu oil for a DIY Cleansing Oil.
