Launched in 2014, this is the blog for people who are interested in green beauty, skincare, and how we can create sustainable beauty rituals without harming the planet.

Empties #19: Leaves of Trees, Herbivore Botanicals, + More

Empties 19: Leaves of Trees, Herbivore Botanicals, + More

We are moving in a month, and we're working on downsizing. I've managed to rid myself of a filing cabinet and all of it's contents, and I've even downsized to a three drawer dresser.

I'm also working on downsizing my beauty stash, so I've got lots of face masks and skincare empties to share today.

Cinnamon Chai Latte Argan Oil Soap // Acure Organics (Discontinued)

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, this soap has been discontinued. It's a total shame, because it's a really lovely soap that's super comforting during the cold weather, but it's got a light enough scent for year round use.

It's also just a good bar of soap. It lathers well, but without the use of sulfates, and it cleanses your skin without leaving it stripped. I won't be repurchasing this one, because I can't, but I may try out one of their other scents.

Blue Clay Spot Treatment Mask // Herbivore Botanicals

I love the Herbivore Botanicals face masks. Their luxurious masks are incredible for your skin, and they all work so well.

This one is no exception, using Cambrian blue clay and white kaolin clay to detox and clarify your skin. You can use it as a spot treatment or as a full face mask, which is what I always did.

I'm not sure I'd repurchase, as I did like their Activate mask a lot better, but they've discontinued that one, so I may have to repurchase this instead.

Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask // Andalou Naturals

This is a pumpkin mask that's really gentle, but effective, at brightening and exfoliating your skin. But I'm not sure I'd repurchase, just because I find the Herbivore Botanicals brightening masks are a touch more effective.

Caffeine Mask // 100% Pure

I loved this mask for it's ability to make my skin super dewy, glowy, and hydrated!

But I won't be repurchasing because I'm trying to support brands that are not only more local and sustainable, but also brands that have genuine, kind people working for them. Unfortunately, 100% Pure doesn't really meet those standards.

Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk // Andalou Naturals

This light cleanser was just what my skin needed. Infused with apricot oil for nourishment, and probiotics for antioxidants, it's a really gentle, soothing cleanser that's perfect for drier skin types.

It's also really great at removing makeup, which allowed me to keep one cleanser in my drawer instead of two! I'd definitely repurchase.

Dark Spot Remover // 100% Pure

100% Pure usually has really great products that are super effective. But this just didn't do anything for my skin. I won't be repurchasing.

Argan Oils // Leaves of Trees

Last month I tried all of the Leaves of Trees argan oils so I could share them with you. I really liked them all, except the Orange Blossom, because I found it had too strong of a scent for me. But I loved the Frankincense the most, and I'd repurchase that in a heartbeat.

Brow Wiz in Taupe // Anastasia Beverly Hills

So I love this product, but I really want to find something more natural. This is great for creating precise brows, but it's not the most natural. So I may repurchase, but if you have any green beauty brow options, let me know in the comments!

Fruit Pigmented Brightening Concealer in Creme // 100% Pure

For the last two years, this has been my go to concealer. It's great for acne, redness, irritation, and under eye circles. I've already got a back up, but I don't think I'll repurchase after that. What's your favourite green beauty concealer?

I hope you found some new products to try!

Until next time,
